So pretty, so practical, buy them from Supernice.

These cushions by Elsie Dodds at Rockett St George are a cool way for kids to get to grips with the alphabet. Each one is printed with things that begin with the chunky letter printed on the back. Not just for kids, though, why not spell a message out on your sofa? Look out for Livingetc‘s guide to Decorating with Typography in the January issue.

If you go down Rugby Street today (or whenever, really), you’re sure of a big surprise…

…One of our favourite shops in London, Ben Pentreath, has extended next door.

We especially love the Curiosities department.

It’s best not to focus on the dark afternoons that lie ahead, think instead of the guilt-free extra hour in bed on Sunday, and this brilliant selection of clocks chosen by acting style director Harriet and style assistant Jennifer.
From London Timepiece…
And these from Diamantini & Domeniconi…
You will never be late again with the top one – the minute hand bends to three minutes faster than the actual time. Genius.

A bunch of flowers is okay, but it’s just not, well, cake is it? Thank goodness, then, for Love Bakery‘s wonderful cake pops, which make the perfect combination of the two. These little beauties are from the Christmas collection, note festive colours, glitter and snowflakes. If one bunch isn’t enough, and it never is, you can top up your craving at home with their recipe book.

You will have seen lots of work in Livingetc by world-class interiors photographer (and one of our favourite people) Richard Powers. Look out for his gorgeous pictures of Nicole Fuller’s Masterpiece Theatre home coming up in the December issue. When he’s not working for us, and other top publications, Richard can be found travelling the world shooting beautiful interiors.
The latest of which can be found in his new book, Living Modern: The Sourcebook of Contemporary Interiors (see below to find out how to get yours at a special discounted price). Mary, houses editor
Reader offer Livingetc readers can buy Richard’s book, published by Thames & Hudson, at the special price of £19.95 (rrp £24.95), including UK mainland delivery (overseas costs available on request). Call Thames & Hudson’s distributor Littlehampton Book Services on 01903 828503, quoting TH102. Offer is subject to availability, until the end of June 2011.

Twin sisters Daniela and Annette Felder, founders of, unsurprisingly, the Felder Felder fashion label have turned their attention to interiors by designing a loft in The Henson – a block between Camden Town and Primrose Hill that used to house Jim Henson’s puppet workshop (just how cool is that, exactly?)

The look is signature Felder Felder – a little bit punky, a little bit sexy, studded metal, leather, and tie-dye elements, as well as bold, graphic artwork by David Packard. Loving these chairs… Put them into production, pretty please.
We’re big fans of architect Oliver Heath who does eco without being overly earnest, and very importantly, creates the kind of cool, contemporary homes we all love. You’ll see evidence of this in his new Hove house – Timber Land in our January issue – but in the meantime, you can read about his work in his book, Urban Eco Chic.
Oliver defines the look and style of eco interiors and explains how to create them – making them stylish, accessible and affordable. The book explores the materials that are available, how to combine technology with nature and vintage, reducing a home’s impact on the environment and creating a healthier space to live in through the reduction of toxins.

If you’re having a Halloween party this weekend and need some inspiration, you simply can’t beat America’s sweetheart Martha Stewart for a good craft idea (click through for all instructions). Except, yowzer, we feel this might be a step too far.
Scandi-heaven store Skandium and Danish Crafts have come together to launch CC+, a collection of, well, you’ve guessed it, Danish crafts. It’s all as elegant, simple and pared-back as you might expect. A few nice pieces…
