There’s something about cherry blossom that is so pretty. Agree? Then head to The Conran Shop, with its windows filled with cherry blossom trees on a carpet of more than two million fabric petals. Each day from 24 February to the end of March, the team at each store will add more than 50 buds to each tree until they are heavy with blossom – finally coming into full bloom on 3 April when the windows will be changed for summer. That’s devotion for you.

This is such a gorgeous idea and is a real pick-me-up when its been wet and drizzly outside!
The amazing thing to me was how they got the trees in there in the first place. I happened to be passing and saw the weird sight of a guy assembling a real cherry tree – whose branches had all been neatly cut off, expertly drilled, and fitted with big dowels to join them on again in the shop window. A fabulous marriage of technology and nature – sadly now hidden from view. They should take them apart by stages when summer comes – if it ever does.
That’s a brilliant idea. In fact, I may take a leaf from their book (sorry, couldnt resist!) and perk up my fruit trees!
