Quite literally, hot new design…

Livingetc loves designs by forward-thinking British radiator company Bisque, (we’ve been coveting an Archibald for ages…) so we jumped at the chance to be part of a panel asked to judge their exciting competition in conjunction with Bath Spa University’s 3D design course.
Students on the BA (Hons) Three Dimensional Design ‘Idea Material Object’ degree were tasked with designing a tubular radiator that not only looked the part, but could potentially be made in to a functioning prototype too. Waves, insect veins, pipework patterns and water molecules were just some of the things the students drew inspiration from, but the winning design ‘Woven’ (shown above) takes its cue from, you guessed it, warps, wefts and wonderful weaves.
With an accolade like this already under his belt, we think up-and-coming design talent Daniel Rous (right) is definitely one to watch.
