Mila’s Daydreams is the maternity leave project of copywriter and concept designer Adele Enersen. We are not only hugely tickled and charmed by her lovely depictions of her sleeping baby, but are rather taken aback that she has not chanced upon these vital moments to slump on the sofa in front of Homes Under The Hammer/MTV Cribs. More cuteness after the jump…
Fresh from Ikea’s blog, Livet Hemma, are these two Rast chest of drawers, one transformed by the grey scale, one in decoupage…

Loving brilliant American upcycler Shannon South‘s clever use of the largely redundant doily. I wonder how she did it? Some kind of burstable mould and tons of PVA glue? Anyway, pretty, and just look at the shadows…

Twists on organic shape with bright neon flashes – we absolutely love Nicole Mueller’s A-Z ceramics range for her own maison sauvage design house. Thanks to Oh Joy!
We love a good craft fair, and when Vitra hosts a craft fair we simply can’t resist! From now until 22 December, along with all the amazing things you would normally see at the Vitra showroom, you’ll find seven stalls offering special gifts created by small producers and designer/makers.
Pick up some Shan Valla Ceramics and Susan Bradley accessories, and bags, and books and mugs and trays and… well, you get the point. And if that wasn’t enough, 10 per cent of all the takings will be going to Shelter, the housing and homelessness charity.

From today, yes today, Truman Brewery will be transformed for the East End Design Show. Expect to find the work of Takae Mizutani and Sons (above), The Future Mapping Company (below)…
And Latorre Cruz‘s amazing Jet Set shelves (below)…
… And buy your Christmas gifts straight from a designer/maker’s workspace during the Hidden Art Studio Open Studio weekends, 27-28th November and 4-5th December. With 30-plus studios to explore, a map would be handy wouldn’t it? They’ve thought of everything.
Look out for DesignK‘s lollipop-cool stools…
Chocolate Creative‘s brilliant graphic textiles…
The Hanitape wallet by Haniboi…
And these delicate Tulpe bowls by Michael Ruh…
Made in Clerkenwell brings together nearly 100 designer/makers from Craft Central, including Livingetc favourites Charlene Mullen (above), Susan Bradley (below) and Esther Coombs (bottom). The event runs all weekend, but you can beat the crowds and go to the launch party on Thursday by buying your ticket here.
Your search for interesting, unique Christmas gifts for the interesting, unique people in your life will be considerably easier if you concentrate your efforts on Bust magazine’s Craftacular in Bethnal Green on Sunday 28 November, sponsored by Etsy.
Expect myriad handmade delights – screenprints, knits, crafty delights, handmade cards, homeware, food goodies, jewellery – by independent designer/makers from the UK, France and America, as well as lovely bits and bobs from household names such as Tatty Devine.
You can also get down to some crafting yourself. The Make Lounge will be hosting Christmas bauble painting workshops, Bethnal Green knitting shop Prick Your Finger will teach a Crochet Your Own Moustache class, craft writer Perri Lewis will be making all things pompom, while pattern makers DIY Couture will be demonstrating seamstress skills.
Shopping done, you can relax with afternoon tea with Time For Tease and Buttercupcakes and listen to tunes from extra-special DJs – like last year, with The Broken Hearts (below).
